Born 13 February 1920 Crosby, Liverpool

Joined the ATS August 1942 in Halifax. Not allowed to join until 1942 as she worked on insurance claims for the bombing in Liverpool

Selected because of her secretarial and short hand skills

Made Lance Corporal 14 August 1943 - Later promoted to Corporal

Then To Beaumanor As Radio Intercept Operator Until 1946

Operated in "J" Hut which is still in the grounds of Beaumanor

Demobbed March 1946

In 2002 awarded the Freedom Of Bletchey Park

In 2009 was awarded the GC&CS badge

by Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Passed away at the age of 96 in March 2016.
